Do You have a Windstream 401(k)?

Approximately two weeks after you receive your final paycheck from Windstream, your status change will be sent to Merrill for the Windstream 401(k) Plan, and your 401(k) account will become eligible for distribution. For information on distribution options and tax implication, refer to the Plan’s Summary Plan Description.

  • If your account balance is over $5,000, you are NOT required to elect a distribution.
  • You may defer distribution of your 401(k) until the year in which you become age 72
  • If you would like to elect a direct rollover of your 401(k) account balance to an IRA or have it paid directly to you, contact the Merrill Participant Service Center at 1-800-228-4015 or access Benefits OnLine at https://www.benefits.ml.com.
  • If choose to leave keep your Windstream 401(k) account with Merrill, it is critical that you keep your address, phone, email address, and beneficiary information updated directly with Merrill.
